Dear Duchense Academy of the Sacred Heat Students,
My name is Chaeyun and I am freshman at Sangsan High School. I am 17 in Korea, and 16 in America. I have a lot of fantasies about American high school that I got from watching high-teen movies! So I think it's such a good opportunity to share letters like this.
From now on, I will explain my daily routine at Sangsan High School. First, I wake up at 6:30 at the alarm. I wake up, wash up, wear my school uniform, and get ready to go to school. Actually, I don't wake up that late, but it takes a long time to get ready, so I don't go to school that fast... After I arrived to school, we study for 30 minutes and have class until 12:00 p.m. Then, we clean our class before we take a meal. Maybe because I cleaned up, the food I ate after cleaning is even better. As far as I know, I heard that American high schools often bring lunch boxes and eat, is it true? If it is true, tell me which menu you prefer for the lunch box!
After we eat lunch, me and my friends go to the CU which is the convenient store. We buy some ice creams and deserts, and eat together. So if you visit Korea, I recommend you to go to CU. Since we went to CU, we have afternoon classes again. We have a class until 5:10 and have dinner again. Usually, lunch is more delicious than dinner, so a great number of students eat dinner at nearby restaurants instead of at school. There are many restaurants nearby that students would like, such as sweet and sour chicken, malatang, tteokbokki, and hamburgers. That's why I spend a lot of money without realizing it. But I can't help it because delicious food is the best.. Sorry mom!! What shall we do after dinner? That's right! We study again. Night self-study runs from 6:30 to 9:20. I can concentrate really well during the night self-study time. But on a tiring day, the self-study time at night feels too long and boring. When the study hall is over, we can divide the students into several types. There are friends who go to the dorm right after the night self-study time, friends who go to the playground with their lovers, friends who go to the convenience store and eat snacks, and friends who exercise. And I usually go straight to the dorm and take a rest. Because exercising is really the worst lol.
To our surprise, we take a break until 10 o'clock and have another dormitory study time. Dormitory self-study is mandatory from 10:00 to 11:20 p.m, and after that, you can study autonomously. And I usually get better until 12 and study. When I come back to my room after studying, I naturally turn on Netflix and watch dramas and movies. Actually, I really like watching Netflix or YouTube. Among Netflix movies, I like romance movies such as "Tall Girl" and "Flip". A movie like "Flip" is such a famous movie that you may have seen it, but if you haven't, I recommend you to watch it once. Can you recommend your favorite movie or drama too?
This is how my day ends. We don't have many days to go home because we're in a dormitory school. So at first, I really missed my family and I missed my home, so I had a hard time. But now, I think it's good to be able to spend the weekend with good friends and spend a lot of time together. I've written about my daily routine and myself. What do you think? I hope it was fun! It's so nice to exchange letters with you like this, and I have a lot of questions about your school life, too! I will wait for your reply as soon as possible!
Sincerely, Chaeyun.
