Hello, my name is Ji Woo and I am first grade at Sangsan high school in Korea. I usually had many questions about American high school students. So I'm going to answer those questions with this letter.
The biggest question is about the American high school test. Korean schools generally have two semesters a year, and each semester basically takes two midterm and final exams. In addition, there is a performance evaluation per subject and a mock test is held every three months. In the third grade, we will take the CSAT, and you can apply to the university with this CSAT score. Because of them, a great number of Korean high school students is stressed. Recently, I learned that American schools take many tests. What kind of tests are there in the American high school like the SAT?
The next question is about school meals in the United States. Rice, soup, and other side dishes are mostly served in Korea. Sometimes noodle dishes, cutlets, hamburgers, etc. are served. Some of my friends say that school meals are bad, but I don't agree with them because my middle school lunch was really bad. American school meals on TV and YouTube are mainly hamburgers and nachos, so I wonder if this is really the case and what you think of your school meals.
The last question is about interest. I like computer programming and related work now, and I plan to become a programmer in the future. Also, I like listening to music. I prefer both classical music and popular songs. My favorite classical song is Tchaikovsky violin concerto in D major op.35, and I am a big fan of IU. (If you want to listen Korean songs, I will strongly recommend IU's songs.) What are your hobbies?
I hope to read your response soon.
