Dear Seooyeon,
My name is Bridget Youngblood. I am a freshman in highschool at Duchesne Academy of the Sacred Heart and I’m 14 years old! Everyone I know calls me Bee like the little insect! (most people named Bridget spell it Bea but for some reason I always spelled mine like the bug.) I am also very happy to be writing to you! I will tell you about my highschool life here at Duchesne! Duchesne is in Omaha, Nebraska, but we are connected to a bunch of different schools internationally! Duchesne school was built in 1881 so we get taught in this building that looks like a castle. Duchesne can be hard sometimes for me, especially my science classes, I spend so much time on her homework and still sometimes end up with a terrible grade! The thing about Duchesne is the community is very inviting and no one really judges you because of your grades! For that I am very thankful. Duchesne is a school that is meant to prepare us for college so it can be very challenging at times! But, that is the whole point of going here to grow and learn! I am also very thankful because Duchesne is an all girls school. I am thankful for this because a lot of times boys speak over women, but here we are allowed to voice our opinions loud and proud! Two of my older sisters both went to Duchesne and it really helped them grow into independent women. Duchesne is really fun. We have surprise food, dance parties, and the teachers always joke and have fun with us! I love many things about being a Duchesne student. I do basketball and Lacrosse for Duchesne and I’m also the Vice President of our guitar club!
I live in a house with my mom, dad, grandma, and three siblings. I have another older sibling but she lives in an apartment in downtown Omaha! We also have 4 cats and three dogs. And we are getting two more cats in the coming week! I play guitar, piano, and bass. Do you play any instruments? If not, are there any you really like? My favorite types of music are classic rock, metal, punk, and all the sub genres within those. My favorite band is Van Halen. I would recommend listening to them. (It’s okay if you don’t like it!)
That’s so cool he will come back next year! I am also worried about upcoming tests (like my SAT) ESPECIALLY because my sisters did so well on it and I feel I won’t. But, don’t worry! I’m sure we will both do fine! Even though standards are maybe high where you live I can already tell you are super smart by this letter. I can barely say anything in the language I take (French). I’m sure you are a very hard worker and seem very nice! But, even if you get too stressed just remember everyone does and that’s how we learn and grow!
With much Kindness,
Bee Youngblood
