Dear American High School student,
Hi, my name is Choi MunKi and I am a first-year student at Sangsan High School. My ambition is to be a doctor so I enter Sangsan High School. I am 17 years old in Korean age, and 15 years old in American age. And I live in a dormitory at school. A great number of students live in dormitory. Now I will introduce you to the daily life of the students.
(This is a view that can be seen at school)
The morning bell rings at 6:30 a.m. in the dormitory. And after I wake up and eat breakfast, I go to school by 8 o'clock. There are a total of eight classes in school, and classes are held until 5:20 p.m. And there is a self-study called '야자' in Korean. It runs for a total of three hours from 6:30 to 9:30. And during study hall, you can go to academies, and students who can't concentrate at school can study at nearby cafes. But in reality, it's not self-study, it's forced. And in the dormitory, self-study runs from 10 p.m. to 11:20 p.m. And by going to bed at midnight, the day ends. In my school, students study a lot and do well. So I have to study hard to get good grades. And now, the test is only about three weeks away. So students are studying hard at school, too.
And this Thursday, there is a pork belly party in my school. I prefer festival so I am so exited. I did it in the first semester, but it is one of the most anticipated events. And after the test, we have the Kylai Festival, the biggest festival in our school. In this festival, students sing or dance. I recommend you to enjoy this festival.
In our school, we can enjoy various hobbies. The playground is very large, so I can play basketball or soccer with my friends.
I am also curious about high school life in America. If you have time, please introduce your life. I want you to reply.
Bye~
