Hello, my name is Yoonseo Oh. I'm 17 years old in Korea and a high school student. My high school is a private school called Sangsan High School. Unlike other high schools, our school has entrance exams and interviews. The total number of students is about 1100, and most of them live in dormitorie. Dormitorie is uncomfortable, but it is also fun, so I like it. My schedule is very tight. I have to wake up at 6:30 in the morning listening to wake-up music (mostly k-idol songs), have breakfast, and be in school by 8 o'clock. There are 8 classes, and after the class is over, the school conducts self-study at night. After self-study, self-study begins again in the dormitory. It was difficult at first, but now you get used to it. On weekends, I play soccer or video games with my friends. I'm pretty good at video games. I can't play because of the exam, but I high key want to play the game after the exam. Our school has a soccer competition by class. Matches are played in a tournament format. Through the game, you can relieve the stress of studying and get closer with other classmates. Our class made it to the finals! Unfortunately, it was 2nd place, but we are satisfied Are school cafeteria meals delicious? Our school has a dormitory, so we always eat in the school cafeteria. Of course, I prefer mom's food over school food, but it's quite edible. Oh, and there are 5 hamburger franchises around the school. This is a lot for Korea. I like Mac the most. I am a big fan of ajr. I listen to their songs when I study. My favorite of their songs is 'Bang!'. I suggest you listen to this song. Their positive songs inspire me. Do you have a favorite singer? Thank you and best regards.

Dear Yoonseo Oh,
Hi! My name is Emma. I’m fifteen and a freshman in high school. I live in Nebraska, the state of corn. My mom grew up in Nebraska City, which is an hour away from where I live, and my dad grew up in O’ahu, Hawaii, which is an ocean away from where I live. I also have two younger sisters. One is a year younger than me, and the other is five years younger. And I have a dog named Scout. I go to Duchesne Academy of the Sacred Heart. Duchesne is an all-girls school. We only have around 350 students here, so I already know almost half the students here. However, we don’t live at the school.
My schedule is a lot less tight. I usually get up between 6:00-7:00 and get to school around 8:20. It starts at 8:45 and gets out at either 3:00 or 3:30, depending on the day. Duchesne has a block schedule. That means we have all eight classes on Monday, four of them on Tuesday, and the other four on Wednesday. Thursday and Friday are the same as Tuesday and Wednesday. Monday, we have 40 minutes classes, and the rest of the week, we have 80 minute classes. We have activity blocks some days so we get out at 3:30 on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays, and 3:00 on Wednesdays and Fridays. It’s sort of weird, but I really like it. It gives us more time to do our homework.
After school, I either have an activity some days, or I just go home and relax. I just finished Cross Country season and am starting Archery this week and possibly Bowling next week.
I like singing, dancing, acting, baking, designing, and reading fantasy books. I also like art, but I’m not good at it, which is why instead of taking Art1 like most freshmen, I’m taking a choir class for my art elective.
I like the school cafeteria food, depending on what it is each day. Some days, I’ll get it. Some days, I’ll just pack a lunch. And other days, I’ll just having a protein bar with some snacks from the vending machine or snack bar. My favorite food is pizza. I’m always in the mood for it, no matter what.
I don’t know many songs by AJR. Just Bang! and World’s Smallest Violin. Some of my favorite singers are Taylor Swift, Kesha, P!nk, Panic! at the Disco, Elle King, Miranda Lambert, and Rihanna. My absolute favorites are Emma Watson and Anna Kendrick, but they mostly just sing in movies. I also like the song Hey, Soul Sister.
Some of my favorite shows are Heartstopper, Never Have I Ever, Stranger Things, and Cobra Kai. I still have to watch the fourth season on Stranger Things, though. My favorite movies are Harry Potter 1-6 (haven’t seen the last two), the Parent Trap (starring Lindsay Lohan), and The Mortal Instruments: The City of Bones. Do you have a favorite movie or show?
Sincerely, Emma
