Dear American Student,
My name is YeJi and I am a first-year student at Sangsan High School in Jeonju, Korea. I am 16 years old. Do you have a character that looks like you? I have one, “Cotton Candy flavored Cookies” in a game named “Cookie Run”. They call me it because they think it looks like me. Search this character on the internet! It’s very cute. I’m so happy to write this letter to you.
I want to introduce my school life to you. I wake up at 6:30 every day at the dorm with the wake-up call. The song I listened to this morning was "strawberry moon-IU". I am a big fan of IU, so I could start the day off in a good mood. And after breakfast, I go to school with my roommates. It's so hard to go to the classroom because I have to climb a high hill every morning from the dormitory. But I like it because it feels like doing exercise.
After going to school, we take classes from 1st to 8th. There are many subjects that our first year students have to take. There are ’Korean’, ’English’, ’Math’, ’Science’, ’Society’, ’Physical Education’, ’Music’, ’Art’, ’Science Exploration Experiment’, ’Artificial Intelligence Basics’, ’Philosophy’, ’Essay’, etc. The subject I prefer most is ’Science’. I think I'm busy studying every day! After the 8th class, I eat dinner with my friends, but I often go out and eat out. When I eat out, I usually eat ramen, sweet and sour chicken, or tteokbokki. Can you recommend a good restaurant near your school?
And from 6:30 p.m., I have to do night self-study for about 3 hours. By the time we start studying, the sun starts to set, and the sky we see at our school is really beautiful. The pink sky makes my heart flutter. The picture I attached is the one I can see in my school! It's really pretty, right? How do you feel when you see the sky where you live?
Even after the night self-study, there is still work to be done. I have to go back to the dormitory and start self-study again at around 10 o'clock. When it ends at 11:20, the day ends. Sometimes I feel tough and tired because I have to study all day, but I am happy every day! I feel grateful for that I am able to do school life with good friends and teachers, and I enjoy my life! How is your school life? I'm really curious. I look forward to your reply! The sooner your answer comes, the better.
Best, Yeji.
