Dear American High School Student, Hi, My name is Jiho Ko and I’m a first-year student at Sangsan High School. I am 16 years old. I am Korean but I was born in Madison, Wisconsin. This is my first time to write a letter to foreigner, so I was so excited! I have been to LA last July, and it was so fun. I am a big fan of Hollywood movies, so I was very elated especially when I visited the Universal Studio. I also visited the Santa Monica beach, UCLA too. There are many interesting things in your country! So I want to introduce our country to you. If you visit Korea, you should go Seoul first. Seoul is big city, and there are so many wonderful buildings such as the Namsan Tower, Gyeongbokgung Palace. Also, there are many things to see in the Lotte Tower, the 5th tallest building in the world. But what I recommend the most is coming to Jeonju, where our school is located. A great number of people come to Jeonju for travel. Especially Hanok Village is the most popular attraction in Jeonju. You can experience Korean tradition and try tasty Korean food in there. (If you come to Jeonju, visit our school too!) I want to tell you my school life. Out school is prestigious high school, so students come from all over the country. Our school and their home is so far, so most of students live in dormitory. I high-key enjoy dormitory life, and there are so many good friends! We wake up at 6:30, and we go to bed at 12:00. This is quite tough, so I sometimes drowse during the class. I’m so curious about your school life. I have seen American school life only in movies, so I have fantasized about it. I look forward to receiving your response soon! Sincerely, Jiho

My name is Eleanor Allen(엘리노어 앨런), I am 16 years old and in 11th grade (2nd year in Korea). I live in Brooklyn, New York.
Im very happy to be able to talk to you! Schools in America are lots of fun and also provide people with endless opportunities to learn. I’ve always wanted to go to Korea. What’s it like there?. What are your favorite places to visit and favorite foods to eat?
I normally wake up at around 6:45am and get ready for school. I leave the house at around 7:30 and get to school around 8:15. Our school lets out at 3:12 every day except wednesday, on wednesday the school lets out at 12:45.
I have always loved Korean food especially Korean Barbeque i love eating food from other countries.
What are you’re favorite things about Korea and is there anything you would want to introduce into Korean culture?
What are some places that i would like to visit in Korea? I would like to hear your opinions.
I hope to continue keeping in touch with you, Eleanor Allen

Dear Eleanor Allen Thank you for your letter. To answer your questions, Jejudo is my favorite place to visit, and fried chicken is my favorite food to eat. Recently we read a play titled "The Three Most Important Things in Life." I think friendship is the most important thing in life. What do you think is most important? When you come to Korea, I recommend that you should visit Jejudo. It is a wonderful place! Something I'm curious about American life is Prom. I always watched it in movies, so I am so curious about it. Thank you!
Sincerely, Jiho

Happy New Year Jiho! I know this is a bit late but I was wondering what you and your family do to celebrate if you do? Are there any foods you like to eat as a holiday dish?
