Dear Francis Louis high school student,
My name is Joonyoung, my age is 17, and I am a first-year student at Sangsan high school, Korea! I had lived in Rochester, Minnesota for a year due to my father’s work at Mayo Clinic in 2013! So I have lots of interest in America and I am very excited to write this letter to you!
First, I will introduce my daily life as a student in South Korea. I usually wake up at 6:30 AM due to the morning song in the dormitory. Once I’m up, I get ready for school for about 20 minutes and go for breakfast in the cafeteria. After I eat breakfast, it is about 7’o clock and I go to school at that time. Our school starts at 8’o clock so I have about an hour to study. There is a midterm test which is very important for our life on October 18th, so our teachers recommend that we study in the morning too. The sooner I get to school, the better my test scores are! From 8-12, we take 4 classes and from 12-1:20, it’s my best time of school, which is the 'Lunchtime'. A great number of students run to the cafeteria to eat lunch quickly, so I have to run fast. After eating lunch, we have to take 4 more classes and our school ends at 5:10. From 5:10-6:30, we have time to eat dinner and until 6:30 all students have to be in the school because we have to study more until 9:20. Also, after going back to the dormitory at 9:20, we have to study more from 10’O clock to 11:20.
When we finish studying, we can have a bit of free time. I am a big fan of Netflix programs, so I watch Netflix at that time. My favorite program is Squid game, which is from my country, South Korea! Also, South Korea is the country of Samsung, BTS, Blackpink, and a lot of famous things. Do you watch Netflix too? If you watch Netflix, what is your favorite program and how do you feel when you watch it? You can ask me about South Korea too if you are curious about my country!
The picture is my class and my Instagram ID is jooon_youngg so I suggest that you follow me and be friends with me! I will wait for your reply!
Best,
Joonyoung
