Dear American High School Student
Hello, my name is Minjun and I am a 1st grade in Sangsan high school. I’m a big fan of American sports especially Nba, Mlb. I like Golden State Worriers and La dodgers. Someday I hope to go to America and watch a basketball. Today, I’m gonna introduce about my high school life and ask you something your American life.
I’ll share my daily life at Sangsan high school. I live in a dormitory, therefore we need to sleep at 12 and wake up and 6:30. We start the class at 8:10 and we have 8 classes per 50 minutes. Our school is a private school and we relatively learn special class compared to public school. For example, we learn Korean traditional martial art. In Korea, most students go to academy after school but we can’t. We should study at school until we go to bed. Though many Korean students go to academy after school, we also study at school before go to bed. There are lots of advantage of our school, but I want to pick the view of the school. When I’m tired, I sometimes take a picture of sky-view.
In Korea, there is a big test that can change our life, it is called “수능". It means evaluate the total things that we have learned for almost 8~10 years during school. I’ve heard that in America there is similar test like “수능", which is called ‘SAT’ or “ACT”. Though for me there is 2 more years to take “수능”, but I’m high-key nervous. I want to ask you that you are also preparing the test hard. I also want to hear the process to prepare the American Test.
Lastly, I’ll introduce about my dream. My dream is to be a doctor. The reason that I want to be a doctor is that I want to help a great number of people. Also, I prefer helping people. After being a doctor I will go to the other world. I’ll make use of my knowledge to help people. There will be adversity to be the doctor, but I’ll never give up. Someday I hope that I go to the America college to study, especially I want to go to John Hopkins University because many people suggest me.
Thank you for reading my letter.
Best, Minjun Kim.
