Dear American friend Hello! My name is Minseo Kim. I’m 16 years old and I’m a first-year student at Sangsan High School. The funny thing about my name is that there are 2 more ‘Minseo Kim’ in this school, and all of them use rooms on the same floor of the dormitory! Imagine what can happen when the 3 'Minseo Kim' meet. I once got into another 'Minseo''s room by accident, and I can't forget the confused face of the other 'Minseo'! Now I want to tell you about my school life. I usually wake up at 7 a.m. (To tell the truth, the wake-up call rings at 6:30, but I prefer to sleep more. It’s hard to wake up so early in the morning...) and go to school at 7:40. The class starts at 8:10 and ends at 5:10. I eat breakfast at 7:20, lunch at 12:30, and dinner at 5:40. I high-key like my school meal because it has great taste and the kind of meal changes every day. This is a picture of dinner, which was great for me!  After dinner, we do more studies at school and in the dormitory, and we sleep at 12:00. It’s hard to study for almost half a day, but as there are about three weeks left until the midterm exam, I'm studying hard. I believe there will be good outcomes for exams if I do my best! And now, I want to tell you about my hobbies. I like to draw things, especially characters. Giving life to ideas in my mind is so exciting for me. I’m not really good at art, but here's a picture of a practical drawing (//U//)  Also, I like to watch animal videos, such as documentaries or animal youtubers' videos. I’m a big fan of 동글동글이 and 뭉치의 개팔상팔. I recommend these Youtube channels to you. I guarantee that you’ll never regret searching for it! You can get both peace of mind and knowledge of Korean homes. Do you have any Youtube channels you like? It would be great if you could tell me about it! By the way, I did some research on your school and was surprised by its global programs! Honestly, I didn’t expect to see a Taekwondo performance video from the website of your school. I’m glad that there are students who are interested in Korean culture! I think discovering the cultures of various countries and other things like entertainment is a really good way to see more of the world. I wish there were more activities to discover global culture in our school. What is your favorite activity in school? I want to know more about you and your school life! Sincerely, Minseo

I wake up at 6:30 in the morning and school starts at 8:10 and we have lunch at 12:00 and then school gets over at 3:00. I don’t really watch YouTube but I like to watch Netflix shows and tik tok on my phone.

I'm an all A’s student so far and I want to continue to do well in school so I can go to college.
What is your favorite Subject In school? WHat do you like to do in your free time?
What holidays do you celebrate and what is your favorite holiday?
I have a best friend named Vivian and our moms used to be best friends when they were younger and we were born 3 days apart and 3 rooms apart so we have a very close bond.
I don't really watch YouTube but usually if I was to watch YouTube I would watch satisfyings videos or something like that.

And now I'll answer your questions! First, my favorite subject is science, because there's lots of experiments and interesting formulars.
I usually watch YouTube videos in my free time, and sometimes I draw things.
I celebrate most Korean holidays such as Chuseok (Korean Harvest Day), Lunar New Year's Day, and Hangul Proclamation Day. My favorite holiday is Chuseok, because I can eat many kinds of fresh fruit!
Something I'm curious about American school life is how teachers teach students. In Korea, students usually just listen and write down what teacher's saying. Is it the same with America? Or is different?
And I'm curios about what your favorite Netflix show is, too! My favorite shows on Netflix are Squid Game, and movies from Studio Ghibli.

Hello, that's really cool that you like science and this semester I don't have science but I also really enjoy science too because I like the hands -on learning because then I get pretty bored if I'm just sitting there listening to the teacher.
I think that you're really good at drawing, i always wished that i could be creative and be able to draw things but unfortunately I'm not very good at drawing and I give up very easily.
At my school we don't have homework and sometimes we will just copy notes from our computers onto our notebooks or sometimes the teacher will talk and when will write down the notes.
My favorite show, well its what im watching right now its called American horror story on Netflix.

Hiiii  )))) My name is Cheila. I'm 17 years old. I'm a senior at Central Islip High School. I wake up at 6:10 but stay in bed until 6:30 in the morning and school starts at 7:15(I am always late). I have lunch at 11:00 and then school gets over at 2 but I get to leave early since I am ahead of my graduation credits so I leave at 1. I don’t really watch YouTube but if I do I would usually watch Emma Chamberlain or the Dodo. I also like to listen to music like rock or alternative music. What are some of your favorite music artists? I am currently trying to apply for colleges/universities to study business administration and management. What do you plan on studying when you go to college/University? |

Dear Cheila, Thanks for the reply  To answer your question, my favorite music artist is Dua Lipa. But it changes a lot, as I like to discover music genres and musicians! In Korea, we take the Korean SAT (available only to people who graduated high school) or use high school grades to enter high school. I'll be taking the Korean SAT. My grades are not good enough to enter the college that I'm hoping to go.... T-T A few days ago, we discussed "what is most important in life" . I think the most important thing in life is fashion. If we didn't have fashion, it would be hard to do something without stress. In my life, fashion works as power! What do you think is the most important thing in your life? I'm curious about your opinion! I'm hoping to get a reply  |

Dear Cydnee, Thanks for the compliment(〃ー〃) You could draw fascinating things if you work hard for it, don't be discouraged! I don't have Instagran ID now, but I would check yours if I make one I want to tell you about what you should do if you visit Korea. First is visiting Seoul. It is the biggest city in Korea, and the capital of Korea too. You could see everything in Korea there. And second, you should try Korean Fried Chicken. I heard it's much diffrent from American Fried chicken. In Korea, it's usually seasoned with sauce. How about American Chicken? Is it really diffrent? What you should not do in Korea is wearing shoes inside the house. Wearing shoes in where you sleep or live is not a good manner in Korea. I'm looking forward to hear your reply! |
