Dear American High School Student,
What’s up America’s lady or gentlemen!
My name is Seo Jin(aka Genie) and I am a freshman at Sangsan High School. I was born in 2006! I’m high-key excited to write this letter to you
Let me tell you about my school briefly. Since our school is far from Seoul, our school has a dormitory on campus. There are 5 people in each room, but the room size is as big as your home bathroom, literally. My home is in Seoul, but in my case, I go home every week because I promised with my parents to study during the weekend while preparing the midterm exam. It takes 3 hours to go to Seoul from Jeonju(where our school is located), so it’s quite tough.
I usually wake up at 7:20 in the dormitory (school alarm rings at 6:30, but I prefer “re-sleep”) and all students should be at school until 7:50. Being lazy, I am usually late for school. Our first class starts at 8:10 and the last class ends at 5:10. Plus, we must attend afterschool study which starts at 6:30 and ends at 11:20. Like many students, my favorite class is PE.
I heard that you guys are 1 or 2 years older than me. My biggest concern these days is that it is not easy to concentrate on my work with all my heart. Midterm exam is upcoming, but I still think of playing games and watching youtube shorts, etc. So if you have any tips about concentrating on your work, please let me know… The sooner you reply, the better.
I enjoy playing soccer and I’ve been playing soccer since I was seven-years-old. So I can assure that I’m the ace of our class soccer team. I am a big fan of the Paris Saint-Germain soccer team because Neymar, Messi and Mbappe are on the team. Also if you have any FIFA account, I’m always welcome to your challenge! XD
If you want to know more about Korea, I recommend “Korean Englishman”, a youtube channel. The video shows global celebrities and British high school students experience Korean food and play culture. There are also many Koreans who have become global stars like Son-Heung-Min, BTS, Blackpink, Bong-Jun-Ho(the director of “Parasite”).
I have never been to USA, but I have been to Canada and the UK. I really like to travel along the world. It’s too bad that I can't travel much because of COVID-19. When COVID-19 ends, I really want to go to the U.S., so please recommend me any activities I can do or places to go! Take care, and good luck on your exam
Best, Genie
