Dear American High School Student
Hello, my name is Minsong Kim and I am a first-grade student at Sangsan High School. I don’t know exactly who you are and what you like, so I am going to simply introduce our school and my hobbies.
Our school is located in Jeonju, South Korea. Being a private school, a great of students are from various cities like Seoul, Busan, and so on. The chairman of our school wrote a famous math workbook series called 수학의 정석, so we students love math;)
Most of the students live in school dormitories and go home about once or twice a month. I usually wake up at 6:30 and go to bed at midnight. Sometimes I feel it is not enough to sleep about 6 hours a day, but it is okay.
My favorite subject at school is math and science, especially physics. It is very clear and fun, so I like it. What is your favorite subject?
One of the special things about our school is that we learn taekwondo in class. Taekwondo is a Korean traditional sport and all of us should get 1st degree. I have learned taekwondo before and I got a 4th degree, so I don’t have to take that test!
Now I am going to tell you about my hobbies. I like to watch movies and read books, and my favorite is the Harry Potter series. I am a big fan of it since I was 9 years old. Both the book version and the movie version are amazing, but I prefer the book version. Also, I like sports such as dodgeball and netball and so on. What kind of sports do you like?
The midterm exam is three weeks away. The sooner the exam is over, the better! I am looking forward to reading your response. Take care!
