Dear Francis Lewis High School Student,
Hi, my name is Han Duik, and I am a freshman in Sangsan High School. Probably 16 years old in America.
Let me explain myself first. My dream is to be a theoretical physicist. In my school, there are many students who are good at math and science, but there are relatively few cases of math or science in the desired department. It's very unique. Let's talk about this later. Anyway, my hobbies are reading books or playing basketball. My favorite writers are Sartre and Albert Camus. Was I too detailed?
It's out of the blue, but I have a concern these days. Korea's college entrance system is much more strict and difficult than the SAT and ACT in the United States. The Korean test similar to the SAT and ACT in the U.S. is the College Scholastic Ability Test, which can only be taken once a year, and the questions are not focused on the concept, and the problem solving itself is somewhat important, so math and science are very difficult. But what's really annoying is that you can only take it once a year, so there are cases where you add up the test you took for three years in high school and go to college or just one college entrance exam. If I don't feel well that day, I can wait a year for the test and then go to college again and again, and this is a real ****... High school seniors in our country are struggling to study for exams every day, but they can't go to college as well as their efforts, and when they go to college, they often don't see the light because they lack strength. Talking about the dog of our college entrance exam system, I don't think it's going to end. So now I'll talk about my school.
Our school is the best in medical school in the country. Children from all over the country come in after taking the first and second exams, so Korea is famous for studying very well. Every test divides all subjects from grades 1 to 9 (Grade 1 is the top 4%), so it's really hard to go to college because you do well on the test here. Most of the friends who come to this school want to study medicine, so even if they are good at any particular subject, they just apply for medical school. It's a job that makes a lot of money. But the view of the school is pretty cool. Even if you take a picture of the scenery, it comes out well. I feel like I'm enduring every day while watching this. It looks long, but there aren't many things I wrote. The picture was taken in front of the cherry blossoms in our school. Good-bye!
Best, Vincent
