Dear Penpal, Hi My name is Seoyeon. I am 17 years old, and a first-year student at Sangsan High School. Being in ‘High School’ is such a new change to my life, so I’m still getting used to this daily routines. Are you already get used to it? Are there any tips for waking up early? I high-key like K-pop. I hope you love it too! Also I love buying snacks out of school. I love doing anything “out of school” because I live in dormitory and I can’t go out a lot these days. Following rules is always too hard, isn’t it? What are your favorite snacks? Please recommend me anything! I’ll try it right away:) My daily routines here! I wake up at 6:30(when the morning call rings) and eat breakfast at 6:50. We have eight lessons a day, and after them(all lessons finish at 5:10pm), we eat dinner and study more from 6:30 to 9:20. We call it “야자”. Additionally because I’m living in a dormitory, we study more there until 12:00pm. The sooner the Midterm is closer, I am more worried about it. Hope we meet some day and talk more about each other. Bye! Best, Seoyeon

Dear Seoyeon, Hi! It’s nice to talk to you. My name is Olivia. I am 16 years old and a junior at Bryan Community Focus Program. Yes I’m pretty used to waking up early, my school has started at 8 am since I was 11. For tips, I’d recommend a light or short morning routine. Like minimal makeup, maybe plan your outfit the night before, and try to go to bed somewhat early so you don’t wake up too tired in the morning. That’s so cool that you live in a dormitory! What’s that like? I’ve never lived in one. Normally we don’t do that until college and that’s only if we choose to live “on campus”. I love snacks! One of my favorites is goldfish! What’s yours? I love trying new food. Wow it’s crazy you have such long school days. Ours starts at 8:10am and ends at 3:00 pm. We don’t have any designated study time, it's all independent. We only eat lunch at school and we are allowed to go home, go get food, or do basically anything during the 30 minute lunch break. The school also provides food if we’d rather. My daily routine: I wake up anytime from 6-7:30 am I go to school starting officially at 8:10 am I have 8 classes there but we finish by 3:00 After school I normally come home and nap or hang out with friends. Hopefully your midterm goes well! They are stressful but I’m sure you’ll do great. Bye!
Sincerely, Olivia

Dear Olivia, Hi, Olivia!! I like your name(it sounds pretty✨)! Thanks for your tips, it was very helpful for me to make a morning routine. Now I think I’m pretty getting used to waking up early. Living in a dormitory is fun(we can spend all day long with our friends, so we have lots of memories together), but not that cool. Since we were all so young and not used to cleaning up our stuffs, the dormitory is not clean enough as I think. So maybe it’s better to just experience the “cool dormitory life” at college(after graduation). I think it is more cool that you don’t have any designated time to study! Almost all of us go “학원” after school and study during the designated time. I searched “gold fish” in Internet and I found it similar to Korean snacks named “고래밥”, which is my favorite snack!! I am also curious about your favorite songs. My favorite song is “Paris In The Rain(Lauv)”, and all the christmas songs. Bye:)
