Dear Francis Lewis High School Student,
Welp, I kind of wanted to give you an intro that ain’t ordinary... but my imagination can’t reach enough to it... so why not the ordinary one. Hi! My name is Woo Hyun Lee, a.k.a. Justin Lee. Probably Justin will be easier since I know that it is hard to pronounce my Korean name. Anyways, I’m a 1st grader at Sangsan High School (I’m 16 if I am at America. Maybe our age is the same...?) I want to talk about my basic information more, but I can already hear you yawning at my letter. The sooner I talk about my school life, the better your concentration will be, so I will start with my daily life in this school right now.
To start my day, I wake up at 6:30 AM in our dormitory. Usually, I sleep again and go to school at 7:50, but when test comes... you know… I have to go to school exactly at 6:30. Dormitory teachers always play songs to wake us up, normally K-Pops or pop songs. School day starts at 8:00, and it lasts til’ 5:10, way longer than yours. And it’s not the end, the fact that we must go back to school at 6:30 PM to study again makes me crazy and having to study AGAIN at 10:00 PM at a different place makes me go insane even more. After those crazy sequences, my day ends, and I have to sleep right at 12:00 AM. (Well, if you don’t want to sleep and enjoy the night you can, but the day after that will be a nightmare...) You might think our school life is low-key tough and just not fun, but in reality, it’s actually really fun… mainly because the whole classroom is filled up with a number of men.
Let’s start with my interests and hobbies. I love listening to songs, especially hip-hop songs. In fact, I’m a member of hip hop club at our school! And the fact that I actually need to create a song by myself will let you know about my passion in this genre. Do you like hip hop songs? And if you do, who’s your favorite rapper? I prefer Kendrick Lamar and Jack Harlow. It will be great if you can listen these songs with me. My other hobbies are sports, and yes, pretty much every sport that exists in this planet earth is in my interest. I’m a big fan of soccer, basketball, baseball, and football. It’s seriously hard to find football fans in Korea, so if one of your hobbies is football, well, you are a very lucky person!
I wanted to write more… but guess it’s time to go. Before I go, I just want to talk that I lived in US for 2 years, and in fact, I lived in Boston, not far away from your school. Since I was a kid that knew nothing when I lived there, let me ask you a question. What is the biggest difference between elementary school and high school in US? I know a bit of being a kid in US, so I want to compare that with high school life. And what’s the toughest situation you are facing right now? Mine is the fact that I have to decide my future that will lead my whole life and that whether I can approach there or not is decided by few tests that takes forever to prepare. It was a bit long outro, but I really need to say goodbye now. I hope your time reading this letter wouldn’t have been boring, and I also hope we can meet in person someday!
P.S. My Instagram nickname is _dldngus_... I mean, take it if you want...
Sincerely, Justin
