Unlike other Korean students, we spend the whole day in school. Because we are dormitory school! Do you have a lot of dorm schools in America? I am so happy to introduce you to the day of Sangsan High School today.

We live in a room with five people. The wake-up alarm goes off at 6:30 a.m. on weekdays, and then we have to get out of the room and get ready for roll call. Then I have to go to school by 7:50 a.m., but it only takes two minutes to go to school because it's a dormitory school! Nonetheless, its fact that the sooner you go to school at morning, the better. Because if you late for school, you should clean your class. How many minutes does it usually take for you to go to school in America?

We have classes from 7:50 a.m. to 5:20 a.m. Most of the classes are centered on Korean (mother language), English, math, social studies, science, and history, and from the second and third grades, they choose the subjects they want to study more. Most students in my school especially choose math and science, and among science, they like to choose physics, chemistry, and life. This is because most people in our school want to go to medical departments or engineering departments. Actually, most people recommend student to go to medical departments because doctor is safety job in Korea. What do you usually learn at school?

Most high schools in Korea have after-school learning called night self-study. Our school is obligated to stay at school from 6:30 p.m. to 9:20 p.m. every day to study! Most students study themselves or go to the academy in front of the school at this time. This time is high-key important because our most time to study.

Unlike other Korean schools, there is another self-study called dormitory self-study. This is oblition because our school is a dormitory school. It is mandatory to study from 10 p.m. to 11:20 p.m. every day, but it is supervised by dormitory teachers, not school teachers. After finishing the dormitory study at 11:20, we go back to the dormitory and get the evening roll call at 11:35. After that, you have to turn off the lights after 12 o'clock. If you walk around your room or take a shower at this time, you will get penalty points, so be careful. Additionally, if the penalty points received in the dormitory exceed 15 points, we should be forced to leave the dormitory for a semester. In fact, you should be careful not to get penalty points even if it's a small thing in the dormitory because you have a friend who got kicked out after getting over 15 points.

I've introduced my school's daily life so far. Although there are so many hard and stressful things during the exam period, I personally am very satisfied with my school because I have fun with my friends and the school system is so good.
