Greetings!
My name is Chongwon Lee and I’m a first-year student at Sangsan High School. My friends call me Hugel. Do your friends have any silly nicknames that they call you?
It's my great pleasure for writing this to you. I want to tell you about my life as a student at Sangsan high school(which is one of the best high schools in south Korea).
The building on the right is a men's dormitory.
Me and my colleagues start the day there. We get the roll call at 6:30 when we wake up. Then the students are divided into two. Half go back to sleep (we call it re-sleep) and the other half go to take breakfast. I don't recommend eating breakfast. This is because you may feel sleepy during morning classes. I think wake-up time is one of the characteristics of our school. What time do you wake up and what time do you go to school in the United States? And what do you think about the wake-up time? I think 'The sooner, the better. Because it takes time for your brain to become clear.
When class starts at 8:10, students study until noon. Noontime is lunchtime and free time. I tend to keep studying in the classroom in my spare time as it is the exam period. After lunchtime, I take classes until 5:10. Night self-study starts at 6:30, and when it ends at 11:30, the basic routine finishes.
In this school, almost all students study hard at a given time. Therefore, it is not enough to focus only on a given time to achieve good results here. One should step out of one's comfort zone to be better. If you study only during your spare time such as break time, lunchtime, and dinner time, you can secure an additional three hours of study time. I'm managing my schedule this way. How do you manage your schedule?
These days, I have a problem. I spend my free time watching my cell phone or using YouTube, but I think it is not a good way. How do you spend your free time? Do you have any activities to recommend to me?
I’ll look forward to hearing from you soon!
