 Dear American High School Friend, Hello Friend! My name is ByeongJun and my English name is CHO which is my last name. I am a freshman at Sangsan high school, and I am 16 years old. I'm glad to have a chance to send mail to you. I want to tell you about my Korea high school life. It will be fun for you to compare your school life to my school life. My hometown is Seoul, the capital of Korea, but my school is in Jeonju which is 120 miles far from Seoul, so I live in a school dormitory. I usually wake up at 7:30 in the dormitory and I go to school at 7:50. Our first class starts at 8:10 and ends at 5:10 pm. We have 8 classes in a day and each class is 50 minutes long. Our school has not only boring teaching classes but also many exciting classes. For example, every Friday, we have time to explore a specific field in which we are interested. I am exploring math theory which I prefer with my friend, and I am going to make a report about it. Does your school have any special programs? When school is end, we eat dinner and start evening self-study from 6:30 pm to 9:20 pm. When evening self-study ends, we go back to our dormitory and study until 11:20 pm. Our school life seems very hard because we study all day, but I think it is fine because a great number of my friends are studying with me, so we rely on each other. On the weekend, I usually take a rest and enjoy my hobby. My favorite hobby is watching Idol camera and listening to K-pop music. Do you have a favorite K-pop artist and favorite K-pop song? In my case, I high-key a big fan of Blackpink. I recommend you hear Blackpink's new song! The midterm exam is three weeks left, so I am very busy studying now. Our school chooses smart students when they select students, so our school's exam is very hard. In Korea, the desire to go to a good university is very high, so many students are studying hard day and night. I sometimes feel tired studying every day and miss my hometown. Hi my name is Trent Koger. I am a Sophomore at Arlington High School and am 16 years old. School here is from 8:05 to 3:30. There are 9 class periods each and they are about 50 minutes long. I participate in three sports. I play basketball, football, and track. My favorite sport is basketball and I am very excited for the upcoming season to start. Do you play any sports? I have never listened to K Pop before either. Most of the music I listen to here is on Apple Music. I have not heard of Blackprint either but I will make sure to go and listen to his new song. Dear Korean High School Friend,
Hello my name is Giovanni Miner. I am a sophomore at Central Islip High School, and I am 15 years old. Your school life in Korea seems very fun but yet different from mine. I wake up at 5:15 every morning. My bus arrives around 6:40. My classes starts at 7:14 and end at 1:54. The class periods are about 40 minutes and I have 9 periods in the day. My school offers classes that are for college and classes that give us the gist of the field we want to work in. We have many classes that will help us succeed in things we will want to do in life such as medical classes, photography, law classes and many more like that. We also have many art and music classes. I take 2 music classes that I enjoy very much. I am in symphonic band and I participate in marching band and I play the bass clarinet. I am in my schools concert choir and I know we have a good music department. Later this year the concert choir will be going to Disney world. The concert choir has visited many places like Italy Hawaii and even sang for the pope. If you would like to hear the choir go to youtube and search Central Islip Concert Choir. My school has a special program to send students to a college during high school it is called Boces. When school ends I go to a club that I am apart of. I am in math club, medical club, science club, french club and i'm also involved in theater and the musicals at my school. I am home around 3:30 and I eat my first meal after that I start doing my homework and finish around 5 or 6. After that I tend to watch shows and movies or call my friends. I have heard of blackpink I do not listen to them often but they do have really good songs many of my friends like kpop and jpop. In blackpink my favorite member would be Jisoo. Some other kpop groups I like are Twice, Loona, Seventeen and BTS. Cant wait to hear from you.
