Dear, America High school Student
Hi! I’m Subeen, a first-grade student in Sangsan High School. In Korea, we become 1-year old as soon as we born, so right now I’m 17 years old. I’m so happy to letter you to know abt you & America school!
I’d like to introduce myself a bit. I used to go to a English kindergarden when I was young. Later, from 2017 to 2019, I studied abroad in Canada for 2years! When I came back to Korea, I had some difficulties adapting to Korean school but I guess I’m fine now! My real home is in Seoul but because SSHS(short for Sangsan High School) is a dormitory school in Jeonju, I am living apart from my family rn. I rlly miss them. I usually go home every three weeks or so.
SSHS is a private school(I heard that ur school is also a private school!). Our school starts at 8:10 and ends at 5:20. We have 4classes before and after lunch and they are 50minutes each with 10 minutes of recess in between. We have language, english, mathematics, social studies, science, history, music, P.E, art, A.I class, reading class, Taekwondo, philosophy, logics, and Chinese. From these subjects, I like P.E, english, and chinese class the most! Do you have some unique classes in your school? What is your fav out of them?
One of the unique things abt my school is that we have late night revision. Most Korea schools are optional, but it is a must here. It starts at 6:30 which is right after dinner and ends at 9:20. We take a short break till 10 and from 10 to 11:20, we have another night revision. We do it in our dorms and I think it is because we can sleep right after. A great number of students study till 12, which is the time we all have to go to bed, but when I feel sleepy, I even go to bed at 11! I’m curious abt ur schedule! Tell me yours!
Although it is hard living as a high school student, I think I’m quite enjoying it! I rlly recommend experiencing school life in Korea But if I had the chance to study in America, I prefer America school to Korea school.(lol)
I’m also planning to travel somewhere abroad during my winter vacation if possible! Is there anywhere you suggest me to go to?
I’m looking foward for your reply! Take care!
P.s. this is a pic of a scenery we can see from our school when we do night revision <3
Sincerely,
Subeen
