Dear American High School Student,
My name is Wonho, and I am a sophomore in Sangsan High School. I am an ordinary student in Korea. I am very shy to write this letter because it’s a first time for me to write a letter to foreign student.
First, I want to tell you my school. Our school is quite different from other public high schools in Korea. Most students enter public schools which are close to their house. Sangsan High School is one of special-purpose private high schools, and we entered here after passing the entrance exam. A great number of brilliant students from all over the country enter here, so it is hard to compete with them in order to enter prestigious universities. Most students in here prefer to enter medical college, and I also want to be a doctor. What do you want to be when you’re grown-up?
Let me tell you about my daily life. Students in Sangsan High school live at a dormitory, so we should wake up at 6:30. Then we have breakfast and go to school. The school finishes at 5:10. After school, students should study independently at school or go to the academy. The whole daily schedule finishes at 23:20. Because it is a very hard schedule, many students sleep during school hours. Of course, I don’t sleep because I am a diligent student! Almost all students in Korea go to academies to get grades, and it is one of social problems of Korea. Do American students go to academies, too?
I high-key like to play games. I cannot usually play games because I should study to get good grades. After the exam, I go to an internet café and play games all day long. I play League of Legends, FIFA ONLINE, and Valorant, etc. and my favorite game is League of Legends. I am a big fan of Faker, who is a famous professional gamer in Korea. Do you know Faker, too?
I have never been to America, so I want to go to America someday. I want to go to see the Statue of Liberty, Grand Canyon, and Times Square. Can you recommend any place to go for me? I hope you to read this letter and reply soon!
Sincerely,
Wonho Park
p.s. This is the landscape of our school. Isn't it wonderful?
