Dear American Friend

My name is Dahee. I love it because it’s meaning is ‘lots of happiness’! What is your name and-your name’s meaning? I’m first-grade in sangsan high-school. Since American’s grade system is different with us, your grade may be different with me

(For more information, I’m born in 2006.12.01) I wrote this letter for the penpal project that my teacher started. But I’m really interested in writing a letter to you!

I’m going to describing about my daily life. (Since everyday is almost same, it’ll be easy LOL)

Nowadays, I live in dormitory in our school and it’s wake up time is 6:30! So I usually wake up then and quickly take my bag to school before going to school. I eat breakfast in dormitory’s cafeteria.

Everyday the cafeteria provides 2-3 kinds of bread and fruits including apples, grapes. In the morning,I prefer dairy and fruits than rice menus. So I eat them a lot and drink coffee for feeling fresh! Our school’s first class starts at 8:10 and the school ends at 5:10 (Sadly, teacher’s information delay our free time) Before after school study at 6:30, we have our free time! I usually run to my room and get sleep. What do you do after school?

I make use of my after school study in two ways. First I go to academy to learn and remind my study. Our school’s test is too hard and we must study a lot of thing. So almost students in sangsan high-school goes to study. Second I go back to my classroom and study what I need. I spend this time doing solving math problems, memorize social study things.

Our after school study end at 9:20. After 4 hours from dinner, I feel hungry at that time. So I go to cafeteria to eat my snack. The snack is one of the reason why I high-key love my school. Although I have to pay for it, it provides my favorite manus. It includes chicken, ramen, samgak gimbap etc..

Did you think that my study is finished after then? But it isn’t!!! I have to study in my dormitory(it’s name is dormitory self study- Korean sound: gisugsa jaseub). Maybe you think my schedule is too much, I think every students in my school had tried intensely and have important dream and ambition. So they can work hard every day.

I’m a big fan of bts. I can tell me as an old fan since I have loved them for five years. At first, I just look for their song cause I heard it at school talent show. Soon, I fall in love in V. But today’s my favorite is Jin, the oldest at this group. I heard they won a prize at billboard and took a place at its chart. But I don’t know Americans Culture well so I wonder that they are really famous in you country. Who is your favorite singer and why do you love him/her/them? I’m really curious.

My name is Alisa, I like my name too because it also means great happiness and
joy! I’m a Junior in highschool so that would make me be in second grade if I was to attend your school. The way you guys call your school grades is completely different from how we call ours. For instance... Kindergarten to 5th grade would be considered elementary school, 6th to 8th grade would be called middle school and then lastly 9th to 12th grade would be high school. You and I are only 7 months apart! I was born 05/27/2006.
Since you described your daily life, I’ll describe mine! Because some days are different.
I currently live with my mom and school for us starts at 9:00 a.m, unless you have a 0 period, then you start at 8:00 a.m. Most of the time we all go to school on our own time because we don’t have dormitory rooms or anything like that, so we either walk, drive, ride a bike, or catch a bus to school. Since I’m 16, I drive myself to school because I now have my drivers liscense

. Breakfast isn’t really a big deal for some kids, most of us can go without it.
I normally leave for lunch and I alway get either chick-fil-a or mac and cheese from Noodles and company. It’s a really good noodle resturant. In the school’s cafeteria though, they always have something new on the menu everyday! It’s hard to keep up LOL. Every Tuesday there’s a PLC day (Proffesional Learning Communities). It has something to do with the teachers so we get out at 2:00 p.m. Every other day though, we get out at 3:00 p.m. After school I normally work from 4:00 p.m to 8:00 p.m. When I don’t have work are the days I love to take long naps.
I normally eat dinner around 7:30 p.m, unless I work, then I eat when I get home. I normally then shower and get everything I need ready for the next day of school. I’ll ususally watch T.V or play games on my phone or even work on school work. It seems like you have a very busy schedule everyday!! I truly couldn’t be able to do what you do. My teacher was telling me that you guys have school all year long. THAT IS CRAZY!! We get fall break that’s only for two days, we get winter break that lasts for 2 weeks and then spring break that also lasts for 2 weeks and then summer break that lasts for about 2 and a half months.
You’d actually be surprised how many people in the U.S. like BTS, I’m personally not a fan because obviously I don’t speak their language so It’s hard for me to

understand but I really like the rappers Rod Wave and G herbo. They’re my two favorites. Only because I relate to them a lot.

😆 I read your reply and thought there are too many differences between us! First i read it, i guess 'noodles and company' is asian restaurant cause i have never called spagetti and pasta etc to noodle!!! I look their menu and found that tomato meatball pasta(i don't know its real name but we call it this way). Ohh i also found and listen to g herbo's song(locked in).Sadly i first know him from your letter. In my opinion, the song style is also little bit different. I heard many american songs before but herbo's are very new for me. I think that many american song popular in korea are seletected by some listener because they think the songs have a similarity to korean song. And i cant listen american fluently so it was dufficult for me.
Thier are some lack of communication about my school life. We also have vacation in summer and winter. And we should go back home in some holidays. Maybe we communicate through letter, it is hard to shiw you.
Ahh i was surprised at you driving! Nowadaysi really want to druve my own car but my age is not enough. I heard america is too large to work so you have to drive. In my favorite american drama(mean girls) they drive i saw and have dream to drive.
It is very fun to letter lol. i hope you know some korean tv shows. they are really fun. Umm thus letter is going to ling so i end it.. Yeah
